SERBIA | Country and Refugees Reality

In August 2017, we went to Serbia through ADRA Portugal and collaborated with the local delegation to understand and meet their needs. We visited 2 refugee camps and experienced the harsh reality, which is experienced by the refugees.

ADRA Community Center is supporting and providing spaces for sport as well, as football, basketball and volleyball also table tennis and football indoors. Every Wednesday the competition games are organized, and on the significant dates, the celebrations as well. The center is also organizing numerous life - skills and creative workshops, often having special guest from international or local community to help them.

ADRA Community Center  is preparing its users for labor market, by investing in the development of their talents and providing them with economic empowerment. In cooperation with accredited institutions ADRA Serbia is providing Vocational Trainings, where they can acquire the necessary skills and knowledge on job working that can help them get employment in the future.

We interviewed the refugees and we know the reasons that led them from their country, the adversities they faced there, as well as those faced all the way to the refugee campe in Serbia, difficulties of staying there and the almost impossible entry into the EU.
